The Tecnorobot system for Industry 4.0 represents an advanced solution for industrial automation, equipped with an intuitive user interface via a touch screen PC positioned on the front column of the robotic island.
This PC not only facilitates the management of production operations but also integrates an SQL Express platform and SSMS software for managing the robotic island’s database, ensuring a continuous data flow between the robot and the customer’s management system via a dedicated network connection.
The database is structured to support the management of production orders (ODP) and the tracking of processing progress. The ODP and ADVANCEMENTS tables record essential details for each stage of the production process, from order creation to the registration of completed operations, allowing full real-time traceability of the robot’s activities.
The Tecnorobot TR4.0 project supports the OPC UA protocol, making all the variables used available to ensure optimal interoperability with other systems. The interfacing and management of database tables are customizable according to the customer’s needs, ensuring that integration with the management system is perfectly tailored to operational specifications.
For system installation, it is necessary to configure a dedicated network with static IP addresses for the Fanuc controller and the touch screen PC, as well as ensure remote access through specific ports for remote assistance. This approach ensures that the Tecnorobot TR4.0 system is not only efficient but also easily manageable and remotely supportable.
TRCOBOT and Industry 4.0
The adoption of next-generation collaborative robots (cobots), such as the TRCOBOT series, represents a decisive step towards the digital transformation of industry. These TRCOBOTs, with their advanced capabilities, are perfectly aligned with the requirements of Industry 4.0, providing companies with powerful tools to improve productivity, quality, and flexibility in production processes.
NETWORK CONNECTION
To integrate TRCOBOTs into the Industry 4.0 ecosystem, connecting them to the company network is essential. The connection is made via an RJ45 Ethernet cable linked to Ethernet Port 1 of the Fanuc R30iB Mini Plus control panel. Port 1 is used for the customer network, while Port 2 is dedicated to the connection with the welding machine.
USE OF THE PRODUCTION PANEL
Once the system is configured and the robot is connected to the network, production control is managed via an intuitive user interface available on the TP Tablet. The main steps include:
- Loading the ODP File: From the control panel, select ‘Tecnorobot -> Production’ and load the ODP file from the USB stick. This imports the production parameters and starts the ‘MAIN_DATA’ program.
- Monitoring Production: The production screen provides a comprehensive view of operational status, displaying crucial information such as the number of parts produced, the quantity of ODP, and the item name.
- Managing Progress: After completing an ODP program, the robot generates a progress file in the ‘Advancements’ folder. This file contains detailed production data, allowing accurate and continuous monitoring of the production process.
THE 4.0 OF TRCOBOT
The TRCOBOT 4.0 involves exchanging text files via the FTP protocol. The customer sends the production order via a USB stick mounted on the robot’s control panel. Using a dedicated page, the operator loads the production order and initiates it. When the TRCOBOT completes the ODP program, it generates a text file. For example, if the production involves 15 parts, 15 .txt files will be generated, one for each part produced.
