After its official unveiling at the BIMU 2024 trade fair, TRSCORPIONE quickly gained significant attention thanks to its innovative features, designed to work with large components while maintaining a compact and efficient structure. This system represents a breakthrough in industrial automation, developed to optimize the welding process with an engineering innovation that overcomes the limits of traditional technologies.

 

SCORPIONE: A TURNING POSITIONER WITH ROBOT MOVEMENT SYSTEM

At the heart of the TRSCORPIONE system is the turning positioner, a solution that enables the robot to operate on large components, overcoming the traditional spatial limitations. Thanks to a highly efficient movement system, the robot can extend beyond the turning axis, allowing welding in hard-to-reach areas, such as the rear points of components.

COMPACT AND EFFICIENT INNOVATION

One of the main advantages of the SCORPIONE system is the elimination of the need for an overhead guide. The robot moves on a ground-based guide, keeping the structure compact and simplifying maintenance and the replacement of the welding wire roller. This configuration ensures greater efficiency and versatility compared to traditional systems, without compromising the available space in the workshop.

A DESIGN BUILT FOR PRECISION

The robot, a FANUC AM100iD/10L with 6 axes, is suspended upside down from a structure with two curved arms and three rotating axes, designed to avoid interference with the workpiece. This innovative design allows the robot to move smoothly along the Y-axis, ensuring maximum operational precision even in complex situations. With a payload capacity of 10 kg and a maximum reach of 1636 mm, the TRSCORPIONE can handle demanding welding tasks with a mechanical repeatability of ±0.03 mm.

POSITIONER AND INTEGRATED COORDINATION

In front of the robot, the TR3401-25-15-75 positioner offers a load capacity of 750 kg, with a fixed length of 2500 mm and a maximum rolling diameter of 1500 mm. The positioner and the robot guide are powered by Fanuc motors and operate in an interpolated and coordinated manner with the robot. This integrated system ensures that the exact position of each axis is known at all times, providing maximum control and precision in the welding process.
